This marble of Middle Jurassic
– Lower Cretaceous age is lithologically a limestone. It comes as concordantly onto
the sandstones ofLower Jurassic at the basement. Upper cretaceous flyschoidal sandstones,
marls and limestones conformably overlie this marble. Dry rose and pink is observed
as veins, lenses or patches in the pink-beige background. Bilecik Pink, consisting
of intraclasts made of rounded and crystallized micritic calcite; and fossile remnants,
is cemented with sparitic matrix.
Can be used in interior plating,
floor covering and decoration. The suitability to take block; to cut sides and corners;
the shapeability; and the cutting rate are all normal. The suitability to take plates
and to be polished are good. There isn’t any rusting risk.
Block dimensions vary between
1.20*1.20*0.80m and 2.40*2.00*1.50m. Plates of 3cm thickness or standard 2cm plates
and desired dimensions can be obtained.
