Quaternary aged Denizli Travertine
may be white, light yellow or mustard colored. It is usually found over clayey and
sandy Pliocene units and alluviums. Denizli Travertine is consisted by sparicalcite
with 30-100micron grain sizes and micritic calcite grains of 1-4 microns. It has
a porous texture.
Can be used in interior/exterior
plating, floor covering or decoration. The suitability to take block and plate,
to cut sides and corners; the shapeability; to polish; and the cutting rate are
all good. There isn’t any rusting risk.
Block dimensions vary between
1.50*1.50*0.80m and 2.40*2.40*2.00m. Larger blocks can be obtained from the portions
where the fissure intervals are very wide. Plates of 1,2,3,4, or 5cm thick and desired
dimension can be obtained.
