This Triassic aged marble is
lithologically a limestone. Metamorphic schists of Triassic are found at the basement.
Jurassic – cretaceaous aged limestones cover these marbles. These consist of calcite
minerals of unit sizes varying between 0.3-0.5mm showing pressure twinning and some
small calcite crystals of unit sizes less than 0.01mm. The marble is observed as
red and in styolite forms on a gray-white background.
Can be used in interior/exterior
plating and decoration. The suitability to take plate; to cut sides and corners;
the shapeability; and to be polished are all good. The cutting rate is normal. There
isn’t any rusting risk.
Block dimensions vary between
1.60*1.20*1.00m and 2.50*2.00*1.40m. Plates of standard 2 or 3cm thickness and desired
dimensions can be obtained. Blocks represent damage up to 60% due to fissures.
