Denizli Travertine

   We process the Travertine quarried in Denizli our Izmir factory as well as in Denizli factories on an exclusive conctract basis. We are mostly exporting the Denizli Travertine to Israel and the United States, as tiles, cut to requested size.

   We produce regular cut, cross-cut, filled and honed travertine. We can also produce thumled travertine up to 30 cm x 30 cm as well as bushhammered . We have 3 selections for the cross-cut travertine: light travertine, medium travertine and commercial qualities.

Characteristics

   Quaternary aged Denizli Travertine may be white, light yellow or mustard colored. It is usually found over clayey and sandy Pliocene units and alluviums. Denizli Travertine consists of sparicalcite with 30-100 micron grain sizes and micritic calcite grains of 1-4 microns. It has a porous texture.

Usage Areas

   The Denizli Travertine can be used in interior and exterior plating, floor covering, decoration, baths, statues, monuments and grave stones. The travertine is suitable to process in blocks and plates; and offers good shapeability. The marble is normally polishable. There is no rusting risk.

Block Dimensions

   Block dimensions vary between 1.50x1.50x0.80m and 2.40x2.40x2.00m. Larger blocks can be obtained from the portions where the fissure intervals are very wide. Plates of 1,2,3,4, or 5cm thick and desired dimension can be obtained.
