Permian aged Aegean Bordeaux
marble has Bordeaux-red zones on a gray background. Lithologically it is a calcshist.
This marble is made of calcite minerals showing occasional granoblastic texture
and has some schistose character. Traces of quartz, felspar, sericite along the
schistosity and epidote and opaque minerals in the form of microllites are also
observed.
Can be used in interior/exterior
plating and decoration. There are some in interior/exterior plating and decoration.
There are some fractures in block locally. Gives good plates. The suitability to
cut sides and corners and the shapeability are difficult. It can be parted at the
fissures during polished by neat pulse method. It is normally cuttable by special
saw. There isn’t any rusting risk.
Block dimensions vary between
1.50*1.50*0.80m and 2.0*1.80*1.20m. Plates of 1,2, or 3cm thick and desired dimensions
can be produced.
